"Just wanted to say the Mini IFO is great"
I had a radio set up problem (and crash) on my first flight (ouch). I broke part of my GWS gearbox. I decided to try a different mounting method. I made to ply triange gussets at the keel and cross member. I CA'd a light ply plate to the side of the gearbox and then attatched this with CA to the triangular gussets....works well and gives a nice mounting surface. The second mod was a velcro battery mount (see pic.1 ) using 1/64 ply, velcro cut to a smaller than stock width and I also glued a very thin non skid material to the ply floor to help apply friction to the battery (stuff used for lid openers but thinner....found at a dollar store). This makes battery changes very easy.
I chose to mount my servos using the carbon rod method used with the T-IFO. I also power this beast with 2 panasonic 830 Mah lithiums from Qualcomm cell phones obtainable from Mark at Hackett electronics.....really cheap. With this pack I am getting 27 minutes of really nice flight. I just set my high rates up to 115% for my next flight. I was able to roll at 100% with a high altitude entry to the maneuver.
I'm really excited....a very aerobatic model with great flight times. Thanks for the design. Hope these mods may be of some use.
PS I ended up using Coverite Micafilm.....It is very light and applies well."
