IFO Tips and Tricks

IFO Skids
By Joe Stewart, CA

Quick jump to see other T&T ideas:

Colored Reynolds wrap was used for the wing covering. Since the Reynolds wrap isn't wide enough to cover thewhole wing, two sheets of Reynolds wrap were taped together using very clear tape. The taped joint lines up with the top of the fuselage rod. The covering was glued to the airframe with 3M77 using the same method outlined in the instructions. The beauty of using the Reynolds wrap is that it can be lightly heat shrunk without
distorting the airframe!

Joe glued little yellow balls at the ends of the skids and vertical center post. The little balls are from Map Pins - the ones used to mark locations on wall maps. They easily pull off the pin leaving a pilot hole which can be drilled out using a 1/16" drill in a pin vise while turning the ball with ones fingers.
